Three members of a family died by suicide in Gujarat's Rajkot on Tuesday, with preliminary investigations pointing to financial distress as the suspected reason, police said. The victims have been identified as Dilip Khakhar, his wife Smita Khakhar and their son Nishit Khakhar.
According to police, the family died after consuming a poisonous substance. Officials said the family had been facing financial difficulties and Nishit Khakhar had borrowed money from several people and mounting debt may have contributed to the family's distress.
Police have registered the case and launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the deaths, adding further details would emerge after
