Bollywood actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday escalated her criticism of Generation Z protesters who were part of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protest at Jantar Mantar over NEET paper leak and alleged irregularities in the education system, calling them “Generation Gutter" and accusing young women in the movement of seeking “independence without accountability." In an Instagram story, the Mandi Lok Sabha MP singled out women who took part in the month-long protests at Jantar Mantar, describing them as “so-called westernised Indian women" who wanted to imitate independent career women without earning that freedom. Ranaut said women who are genuinely independent make unconventional choices and accept responsibility for their actions because they are financially and personally self-reliant. She further said that they are “so corrupt and ugly" that “they can’t be homemakers". “Most appalling is the behaviour of young Hindu women, who want to imitate the lives of independent career women, without earning that freedom.

Women who are truly independent, they make rebellious choices, bold opinions, unconventional career moves and they take accountability for their actions. They have to cos they are on their own. They don’t do this at the cost of their parents or families," she said. In contrast, she alleged that many young women involved in the protests “proudly flaunt" drug use, alcohol consumption and “endless body counts" while continuing to depend on their parents financially. Calling them “Generation Gutter", Ranaut said that such women were “not good at studies" and “can’t be homemakers either", adding that “an independent life needs to be earned." “I call them Generation Gutter. Some of them have nothing to offer to the system. They are not good at studies but they are so ugly and corrupt that they can’t be homemakers either, but they proudly flaunt their freedom to have drugs, drinks or endless body counts and shamelessly live off their parents’ earnings and constantly fight to live independent lives without actually being independent," she added. She concluded that independent life needs to be earned. “Independent life needs to be earned. If you try to live independent without accountability you are just a distorted entity. Gutter chap," the BJP MP said. The BJP MP also criticised the language, slogans and social media posts used by protesters during the agitation, describing videos and Instagram reels from the demonstrations as “puke-inducing." She also questioned their upbringing and continued, “Who is birthing and raising them?" Claiming that India was “a place of diversely beautiful people, draped in elegance and rooted in cultural sophistication", the BJP MP took aim at the CJP and said, “You call yourself cockroaches and look and behave like them as well.
