The development came hours after the group warned it could return to the streets over what it described as a “breach of agreement" on police action against protesters. In a post on X around 1 am, CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das said the meeting with government representatives lasted nearly three hours. Saurav Das said officials shared copies of notifications issued by the Bihar and Assam governments confirming the withdrawal of FIRs against protesters, the release of those detained and assurances that no further action would be taken.

The meeting lasted for 2-3 hours. They shared copies of the Bihar and Assam notifications guaranteeing FIR withdrawals, no action in future, and release of all detainees and arrestees," Saurav Das wrote. He added that the government had reiterated its commitment to issuing similar notifications from the Union government and other BJP/NDA-ruled states. “Hopefully, the agreed upon language shall be used. No protester will be left alone. We are all in this together," he said. The late-night post followed a sharp warning from the CJP earlier on Monday, when spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka alleged that despite the agreement reached with the government after the 37-day Jantar Mantar protest ended, demonstrators were still facing arrests, surveillance and police action in several states. Ashutosh Ranka demanded the immediate withdrawal of all FIRs, the release of detained students and a guarantee that no fresh cases would be filed, warning that the movement would otherwise resume its protest. Saurav Das said CJP leaders had expressed concerns that the assurances given during negotiations might not be implemented on the ground. He said government representatives responded by producing Bihar’s Home Department notification and assured them that similar guarantees would soon be issued elsewhere. “The government has guaranteed that notifications addressing our concerns in various states will be issued by tomorrow and that protesters will remain safe. No action will be taken against them in the future," Saurav Das said. He also claimed the group had received a separate assurance that authorities in Rajasthan would not proceed against protesters.
