In an exclusive interview, Saurav Das, spokesperson for the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), addressed ongoing FIRs and detentions of protesters despite an agreement reached with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh. Das clarified that the party called off its protest in good faith following verbal assurances during a joint press conference, with written guarantees expected to follow. Stating that "there's no space for violence in our movement," Das emphasized that all FIRs against peaceful protesters must be dropped.
He expressed concern over potential misuse of legal actions by police and suggested establishing an independent judicial commission to review cases involving alleged violence. Das warned that if the government fails to honor its commitments by the set deadline, the CJP will resume its protests. Additionally, he addressed viral videos of CJP celebrations, explaining that the gathering was intended to thank volunteers who contributed to the movement.
