In an exclusive interview with India Today, Cockroach Janta Party spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka spoke about the ongoing student protests and negotiations with the Central government. Addressing concerns regarding police action, Ranka stated that all FIRs registered against peaceful protesters and organizers across the country must be withdrawn without delay. He revealed that CJP leaders met with Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh on July 20 to demand written assurances and copies of the filed FIRs.
Rejecting claims of political bias, Ranka clarified that while he was previously associated with the Aam Aadmi Party, all political affiliations ceased upon joining CJP. He emphasized that the organization remains open to support from all political parties raising student issues, but core CJP members must stay politically neutral. Ranka asserted, "If that agreement is not being honored, I don't know what kind of faith are we expected to have," adding that the movement aims to build a strong national platform for youth concerns.
