Stating that Dharmendra Pradhan had brought in many reforms in the education field, former Minister K.S. Eshwarappa said the Union Minister for Education had been made to resign for the wrongs committed by someone else. Addressing a press conference in Shivamogga on Monday, Mr. Eshwarappa said Mr. Pradhan was a committed and honest leader who had been made to take responsibility for matters he was not involved in.
He recalled that when he was president of the State unit of the BJP, Mr. Pradhan was the party’s in-charge for Karnataka and had travelled extensively across the State to strengthen the party organisation. Eshwarappa also said the students’ protests over the NEET-UG paper leak issue were not a movement but a revolt, and alleged that they were backed by forces inimical to the country.
He further remarked that the Congress had misled the protesters for its own political gain, and added that the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was strong and that nobody could weaken it. He also criticised the Congress government in the State for the delay in filling vacancies in the Cabinet. “There are no ministers in-charge of the districts.
The Chief Minister is holding review meetings with officers, while there are no ministers to review the drought situation on the ground,” he said.
