The Indian finished with a combined lift of 199kg, made up of an 88kg snatch and 111kg clean and jerk, to hand India its fifth medal of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. She opened with a comfortable 82kg lift before matching Didih with 85kg on her second attempt. She then completed an impressive 88kg on her final lift to strengthen her medal hopes. Didih, however, responded in style. The Nigerian cleared 93kg with her final snatch attempt to set a new Commonwealth record and take the lead heading into the clean and jerk, leaving Gyaneshwari in the provisional silver-medal position. Records Tumble In Clean & Jerk The clean and jerk turned into a gripping contest between the two lifters. Gyaneshwari struck first, clearing 103kg on her opening attempt to set a new Commonwealth Games record. Didih immediately responded by increasing her opening weight to 104kg, successfully reclaiming the lead. The Nigerian then raised the bar again with a 105kg lift, breaking both the Games and Commonwealth records once more.
Not to be outdone, Gyaneshwari answered with a superb 107kg on her second attempt, briefly moving back into gold-medal position while also rewriting the record books. Didih, however, had another response. She successfully lifted 110kg, reclaiming both the lead and the Commonwealth record before sealing the gold medal with a mammoth 113kg lift to cap it all off. Although the gold was out of reach, Gyaneshwari finished her campaign on a high. She produced an outstanding 111kg clean and jerk on her final attempt to confirm the silver medal with an overall total of 199kg — her personal best.
