PIBFactCheck: This claim is fake," the Fact-Check unit of the government tweeted. The PIB Fact Check unit further clarified that no such announcement had been made by the Government of India. “No such announcement has been made by the Government of India. Please remain vigilant and do not fall for such misleading claims," the post read. The fact-checking unit also urged the public to report suspicious content related to the Central government for verification. MEA Fact-Checks Viral Claim ON CJP Protest This comes a day after the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) rejected the claim made in a social media post that falsely attributed remarks on the alleged foreign funding of the recent protests by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) to its spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, while misrepresenting his actual statement made during the Ministry’s biweekly media briefing.

The MEA described the post as “misleading." In a post on X, the MEA Fact Check unit said, “The post is misleading and misrepresents the statement of the Spokesperson." The clarification came in response to a viral X post claiming that the MEA spokesperson had said, “I have been asked about the funding of the CJP protest many a time. I want to say that our intelligence & investigation reveals there is no Foreign funding in it."
