The Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has imposed night-time traffic restrictions on the Peenya Elevated Flyover (Dr. Sri Shivakumara Swamiji Flyover) on Highway-4 to facilitate asphalt resurfacing works. This is expected to lead to a traffic pile up on Tumakuru Road. According to the traffic advisory, all categories of vehicles travelling towards Bengaluru city on the elevated flyover will be prohibited from using the stretch between July 27 and August 5, daily from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, the restriction will be in force from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. The restriction will apply to the stretch from the Kennametal Widia Upper Ramp to the SRS Down Ramp on the flyover. Vehicles travelling from Nelamangala towards Bengaluru will be diverted near the Kennametal Factory and directed to use the highway surface carriageway and service road up to 8th Mile, before proceeding via Jalahalli Cross towards Goraguntepalya. Authorities have requested motorists to cooperate with the temporary traffic arrangements and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
