Parliament experienced another washout with zero business as ruckus continued in both houses. However, a breakthrough was achieved after Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla intervened and engaged in dialogue with opposition parties, convincing them to participate in parliamentary debates. The government introduced and tabled the Anti-Paper Leak Bill in the Lok Sabha, with a detailed discussion and voting scheduled for tomorrow.
The BJP plans to field young MPs to lead the debate on the education reform bill. Meanwhile, the opposition, led by the Congress party, shifted its strategy following the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The opposition is now demanding a formal statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the July 20 clashes and allegations that lethal force and pellets were used against protesting students.
