A former BJP MLA’s daughter has alleged that she was molested during a student protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on July 24, claiming that she slapped the man accused of touching her inappropriately but was then scolded by people at the protest site. The woman made the allegations in an Instagram post. She said she was at the protest with her sister near the main stage when the incident allegedly took place.

When she turned around, she alleged that a man standing behind her tried to touch her inappropriately. “A man standing behind me tried to touch me inappropriately and forcefully put his hand between my legs,” she wrote in her Instagram post. She further alleged that she slapped the man three times after the incident.
However, she claimed that instead of confronting the man, some men at the protest directed their anger towards her. She alleged that a male volunteer repeatedly shouted at her for being present at the protest, while another volunteer dismissed the incident by saying, “Such mistakes happen.” The allegations come amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the student protests at Jantar Mantar. When contacted over the phone about the allegations, the leader denied having any information about the incident.
He said his mother was with his daughter at the protest and would be in a better position to know what had happened. “I have no information about any such incident. My mother was with her, so she would know about the incident,” he said. Ends
