Bindhushree J. Pawar, a NEET UG-2026 aspirant from Hangal in Haveri district has alleged a mi up in OMR sheets, as a result of which her score has been shown as -11 instead of the 663 marks that she expected. According to the NEET aspirant, she was expecting a score of 663 as per the answer key released by the Testing Agency (NTA) on June 21. But when the results were announced on July 16, she was shocked to find that her score was shown as -11. She also contended that although the OMR sheet sent by the NTA has her name, roll number and signature, some mi up might have happened as the blackening of the circles to mark the answers did not resemble her style, adding that she had attempted 165 questions while the OMR sheet sent to her had just 41 entries.
Pointing out the discrepancies in her OMR sheet, Bindushree had sent a mail to the NTA on July 22 requesting for her original OMR sheet, which she claims should have fetched her 663 marks. But till date, she has not received any reply and calls by her teachers to the NTA helpline have gone unanswered, she said. Speaking to the media, Bindushree alleged that even the fingerprint on the OMR sheet looked like it had been tampered with as it had a second overlapping thumb impression on it. “While my signature and other details are correct, my entry time is shown as 1.56 p.m. and exit time as 1.57 p.m. I don’t understand how a can student complete his/her OMR sheet filling in just one minute,” she said.
In the OMR sheet sent to Bindushree, she has put her signature at 1.52 p.m. and there are signatures of two invigilators — one at 1.56 p.m. and another at 1.57 p.m. According to her father, Jagadish Pawar, Bindushree had undergone two years of coaching and had consistently performed well in the practice tests. “In the re-NEET she was expecting 668 according to the answer key, but results showed her score as -11. When we checked the OMR, it appeared to be of someone else. We urge the NTA to please send her original OMR sheet and give us justice,” he urged.
Meanwhile, the Haveri district administration also has forwarded Bindushree’s grievance to the NTA.
