Observing that the stampede is under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and that the Supreme Court is monitoring the probe, the court said it would refrain from making any observations on the merits of the case.

On July 10, Vijay made his first visit to Karur since assuming office and handed over government appointment orders on compassionate grounds to 32 members of the victims' families.
Under the package, one eligible member from each affected family was offered a government job. The Chief Minister also met the bereaved families at the District Collectorate before addressing a public gathering in the district. The event was marked by emotional scenes as Vijay broke down while handing over the appointment letters. Dressed entirely in black, the actor-turned-politician struggled to hold back tears as he consoled grieving relatives, describing the tragedy as an "unhealed wound" that continued to weigh heavily on him.
