Following the conclusion of student protests over paper leaks, the Centre announced key measures to overhaul the national examination system. A high-powered task force led by a prominent technology expert has been set up to recommend long-term reforms aimed at making future competitive exams transparent, credible, and technology-driven.
Additionally, fast-track courts have been instituted to deal with examination irregularities, and a new Anti-Paper Leak Bill is set to be introduced in Parliament. Meanwhile, the Opposition Congress dismissed the government's measures, questioning why previous reform recommendations following the 2024 NEET paper leak were not implemented and highlighting the lack of a full-time director general at the Testing Agency.
