Activist Sonam Wangchuk visited Raj Ghat alongside his wife Gitanjali Angmo to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi following his discharge from the hospital. After ending his 26-day hunger strike, Wangchuk described his protest as a validation that Mahatma Gandhi's principles of satyagraha and non-violence remain effective today. He thanked supporters and students who participated in the agitation that eventually led to the minister's resignation.
Wangchuk announced that he will be returning to his hometown in Ladakh next. India Today correspondent Shivani Sharma reported that Wangchuk was not seen alongside CJP spokespersons after being hospitalized, indicating an apparent disconnect between them after the fast ended. Although questions were raised regarding Wangchuk breaking his fast at the hospital rather than at Jantar Mantar, he maintained that non-violent sacrifice helped achieve the protest's objectives.
