The Supreme Court will hear multiple petitions tomorrow over alleged police excesses during student protests in Delhi, Bihar and other states. Chief Justice of India Surya Kant observed that the right to peaceful protest cannot be denied, said lathi charge cannot be the default response, and called for nationwide protocols that protect both protesters and police personnel.
