Passengers in the Vande Bharat express train proceeding from Mysuru to Chennai were shocked to find an adhesive gel packet along with the food served. D. Sekhar, a resident of Kathirvedu, said he along with a few others was returning from Mysuru to Chennai city in the Vande Bharat (train no. 20608) train on Sunday (July 26, 2026) when he was shocked to find an adhesive gel packet in the food tray served by the IRCTC canteen.
The passengers in the train reported the incident to the ticket checker and gave a written complaint. He said this was a grave lapse on
the part of the food contractor which could have caused serious health hazard to the passengers. A senior official of Southern Railway said the incident
has been reported to the IRCTC team as well as to the South Western railway for further action.
