Fresh off breaking the world record in the event earlier this year, Esha once again showcased why she is one of the world’s best pistol shooters.

The Hyderabad shooter was in complete control throughout the final, finishing with 40 hits out of 50 to comfortably secure the gold medal. She finished three points clear of China’s Yueyue Zhang, who settled for silver. Manu Bhaker Fights Back For Bronze Amid Esha’s excellence, double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker also added another international medal to her collection. Bhaker edged past North Korea’s Hyon Gyong Pak in a tense bronze-medal contest that required a double shoot-off before the Indian finally prevailed. The podium finish gave India a double celebration in the event and boosted its overall medal tally in Hangzhou. India Climbs The Medal Table India’s tally at the ISSF World Cup now stands at three medals. Earlier in the competition, Sainyam had opened the country’s account with silver in the women’s 10m air pistol.

The latest medals lifted India to second place in the standings, behind hosts China, who have amassed 14 medals, including six golds. Rifle Shooters Miss Out Again The men’s 50m rifle 3-positions event, however, proved disappointing for the Indian contingent. Despite both Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Niraj Kumar reaching the eight-man final, neither could convert strong qualification performances into medals. Aishwary finished sixth with 314.3 points, while Niraj placed seventh with 303.4. China’s Olympic champion Zhang Changhong claimed gold with a world-record score of 363, ahead of Hungary’s Istvan Peni, while Individual Neutral Athlete Matvei Potapov took bronze.
