(Photo: PTI) Fresh allegations of irregularities in a Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) recruitment examination have come to the fore, with NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar alleging that the Drug Inspector recruitment examination conducted in March this year was compromised by a large-scale paper leak. Addressing a press conference on Monday, Pawar alleged that the March 22, 2026 MPSC Drug Inspector examination paper was leaked two days before the test, with the question paper and answer key allegedly being circulated in PDF format on WhatsApp on March 20.
He claimed that around 90 of the 100 questions in the actual examination matched the leaked document, calling it a serious breach of the recruitment process. Pawar further alleged that the paper was sold for Rs 12 lakh, with an advance payment of Rs 5 lakh allegedly demanded from candidates. According to him, the alleged racket was linked to Kautilya Academy in Nandurbar, where the papers were purportedly sold to parents and candidates in exchange for money. He urged authorities to investigate the alleged network behind the leak and identify those responsible. The NCP (SP) leader also claimed that students had submitted formal complaints to the MPSC in July 2026, flagging the alleged paper leak, but alleged that no action had been taken so far. He questioned why the recruitment process had not been subjected to a detailed inquiry despite what he described as substantial evidence. The commission has maintained that the recruitment process was conducted transparently and has stated that while any complaint received will be verified, legal action will be initiated if the allegations are found to be false or intended to tarnish the commission’s image, the report mentioned. Fresh Scrutiny Amid NEET Paper Leak Controversy The allegations have surfaced at a time when examination integrity has become a politically charged issue following the recent NEET paper leak controversy, which triggered nationwide protests by students and opposition parties. The NEET row led to sustained demands for accountability, with opposition leaders alleging systemic failures in protecting the sanctity of competitive examinations. The controversy intensified public scrutiny of recruitment and entrance examinations across the country, making fresh allegations of paper leaks particularly sensitive.
