The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is set to launch a 45-day door-to-door campaign on July 27 on the achievements of the coalition government in the last two years. Addressing party leaders and public representatives on the eve of the campaign through a teleconference on Sunday (July 26, 2026), TDP chief and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the two years of governance and crucial issues must be highlighted.
He said the TDP and its allies had secured a phenomenal victory in the 2024 elections as the people believed in their leadership and commitment to welfare and development. Having voted the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) out of power, people need to know what the TDP-led coalition had since done for them, he said, pointing out that the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena Party alliance achieved a 94% strike rate and secured 57% of the total vote share.
He said the number of YSRCP seats in the Legislative Assembly fell from 151 to 11 because of its failures and destructive governance. Naidu asked the leaders to ensure that the TDP and its allies swept the local body elections and said every individual should work with dedication to achieve that goal. He told the leaders and elected representatives to promptly address any concerns raised by the people, and said the entire party machinery, including Ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs, should take part in the outreach programme.
The previous YSRCP governmentās failures should be exposed, Mr. Naidu said, adding that the continuation of the coalition government was essential for the State to move forward.
