The incident took place in Bijrari village under the Panwari police station area of Mahoba. According to officials, Mansoori was heavily addicted to alcohol and gambling and had sold most of his land to support his addictions. On Saturday night, he returned home in an intoxicated state, following which Manisha tried to stop him from drinking further. The disagreement escalated, and Mansoori allegedly picked up a sickle and attacked his wife multiple times, killing her. The incident took place in front of their five-year-old son and two-year-old daughter. Police said Mansoori later called them himself and allegedly tried to create a false narrative to avoid suspicion. However, his five-year-old son gave an eyewitness account of the incident.
Following this, Panwari Station House Officer (SHO) Praveen Kumar questioned the accused and arrested him. Meanwhile, Manisha’s family alleged that Mansoori had a suspicious nature and frequently assaulted her over minor issues. Her brother, Naseem Mansoori, said the accused had thrown his sister out of the house several times, forcing police intervention, but she would return to keep the family together. The victim’s brother-in-law, Shakir, said the family had repeatedly tried to counsel Mansoori, but their efforts failed. He alleged that Mansoori attacked Manisha on her body, head and hands with the sickle. Mansoori’s father, who claimed that his son had thrown him out of the house four years ago, also demanded strict punishment for the accused.
Kulpahar Circle Officer Anirudh Singh said legal action against the accused is being initiated and further investigation into the matter is underway.
