DRDO chairman and Security Advisory Board member G. Satheesh Reddy on Sunday said India was no longer dependent on developed countries for critical military technologies. Speaking after receiving the EMESCO-Dr B.V. Pattabhiram’s ‘Changemaker-2026’ award from actor-politician Chiranjeevi at a function held here, Mr.Reddy dedicated the honour to the contributions of thousands of scientists, from Suri Bhagavantam to A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who had worked towards strengthening India’s scientific capabilities.
D. Vijayakumar, CEO of EMESCO Books, said Pattabhiram had worked extensively for the welfare of students and youth through counselling and guidance. He said Mr. Reddy was also inspiring youth across the country through lectures, interviews and symposiums organised under the banner of Kalam’s Institute of Youth Excellence.
Chiranjeevi recalled the contributions of Pattabhiram as a magician, student adviser and family counsellor.
