Bradley Barcola Rejects PSG Contract Extension; Liverpool Emerge As Frontrunners - Report Published By, Last Updated: July 26, 2026, 18:36 IST Bradley Barcola has reportedly rejected a new PSG contract, with Liverpool leading the race to sign the €90 million-rated France winger this summer. Rapid Read France and PSG winger Bradley Barcola (AP) Bradley Barcola’s future at Paris Saint-Germain appears increasingly uncertain after the France international reportedly decided against signing a new contract. The 23-year-old winger, whose current deal runs until 2028, has informed PSG he does not want to extend his stay, opening the door to a potential blockbuster transfer this summer. According to Fabrizio Romano and Foot Mercato, Liverpool have emerged as the leading contenders for his signature. The Reds are looking to strengthen their attack following Mohamed Salah’s departure, and Barcola has reportedly become their dream target.
Liverpool Lead The Race Barcola is said to be attracted by Liverpool’s sporting project under Andoni Iraola and would prioritise a move to Anfield if he leaves Paris. Reports suggest preliminary club-to-club discussions have already taken place, while Arsenal and Bayern Munich also remain interested. Chelsea, however, are believed to have been ruled out after the winger rejected the opportunity to join the London club. Liverpool are also monitoring alternatives, including FC Köln’s Saïd El Mala and Lille’s Matías Fernández-Pardo, but Barcola remains their preferred option. A move to Merseyside would also reunite the French international with compatriots Jérémy Jacquet and Hugo Ekitike. Reduced Role Sparks Exit Talk Barcola has enjoyed remarkable success since joining PSG from Lyon in 2023, helping the French champions win back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles along with multiple domestic trophies.
However, his role under Luis Enrique diminished last season. Although he featured regularly, Barcola was no longer an automatic starter in PSG’s biggest matches, with Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia often preferred on the wings. That led to growing speculation over his long-term future, despite his contract still having two years remaining. Foot Mercato reports that Barcola delayed contract talks while representing France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup before ultimately deciding not to renew, even after PSG offered him improved terms. The French champions are now expected to consider selling the winger rather than risk his transfer value declining.
