The Bharatiya Janata Party has launched a sharp political attack against the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government in Himachal Pradesh over alleged recruitment scams and paper leak irregularities in the police recruitment examination. Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur alleged that the state government is shielding the scam accused and ignoring complaints regarding mass cheating.
The opposition highlighted that officials named in Central Bureau of Investigation probes were assigned key administrative posts instead of facing disciplinary action. Citing paper leak cases in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, the BJP asserted that the Congress party lacks the moral authority to lecture on examination integrity while demanding answers directly from the Chief Minister. The BJP backed the proposed central anti-paper leak legislation, accusing the Congress of using youth for political motives through candle marches rather than ensuring transparent recruitment and fixing accountability in state-level examinations.
