A fragile path to diplomacy between Iran and the United States has hit another roadblock.
Tehran announced that it will stop exchanging messages with Washington through mediators, saying no talks can move forward while Israeli forces continue military operations in Lebanon and Gaza, according to reports from Iran's Tasnim news agency.
"Given the continuation of the Israeli regime's attacks in Lebanon, and considering that Lebanon had been one of the preconditions for a ceasefire -- which has now been violated on all fronts, including Lebanon -- the Iranian negotiating team is suspending 'talks and exchanges of texts through mediators,'" Tasnim reported.
It also reported that the "resistance front" and Iran have set an agenda to completely block the Strait of Hormuz and activate other fronts, including the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, two of the world's most important maritime trade routes.
