In an exclusive interview with India Today, Cockroach Janta Party spokesperson Saurav Das discussed the youth-led protest movement that culminated in the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Highlighting the 49 days of relentless demonstration across the country and at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, Das declared, "Pradhan's resignation was non-negotiable." He commended the fearless youth for taking to the streets despite facing police brutality following the July 20 protest.
Das acknowledged that insensitive remarks from the Chief Justice of India unintentionally awakened the nation's young population to stand up for their democratic rights. While confirming that prior demands regarding FIR dismissals and NEET suicide compensations were agreed upon during government talks, he emphasized that the minister's resignation remained the core mandate. Looking ahead, Das revealed plans to tour the nation to hear young citizens directly and build grassroots engagement to ensure greater youth representation in Indian politics.
