Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned following nearly 50 days of student-led protests over the NEET-UG paper leaks and examination failures, taking moral responsibility for the crisis via a statement on X. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has been given additional charge of the Education Ministry. Following the resignation and government assurances to provide financial compensation and withdraw FIRs against student protesters, the Cockroach Janata Party and student leaders, including AISA President Neha Bora, officially called off their nationwide demonstrations at Jantar Mantar.
In a special report hosted by Rajdeep Sardesai, BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli stated the government responded to student concerns and committed to structural educational reforms, while Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi attributed the outcome to youth power. Student activists Anushka Ghosh, Srushti Ashok Mane, and Tejas Anup discussed using social media platforms like Instagram for non-partisan organizing, addressing police detentions, student anxieties, and demanding systemic changes to the Testing Agency.
