Pralhad Joshi's First Reaction After Becoming Education Minister: 'Will Fulfil Responsibility To The Best Of My Ability' Published By, Last Updated: July 25, 2026, 22:51 IST Pralhad Joshi said he would fulfil the responsibility "to the best of my ability" in his first remarks after being given additional charge of the Education Ministry. Education Minister Pralhad Joshi on Saturday said that he would carry out the responsibility to the best of his ability. “I have been entrusted with this responsibility, and I will fulfil it to the best of my ability," he said, adding that he understands Joshi said he accepted the responsibility with humility and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for placing his trust in him. He also credited former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for implementing the Education Policy (NEP) and said he would work with dedication to further strengthen the country’s education system.
“I accept this responsibility with a sense of duty and humility. I am thankful to the Prime Minister. In the last 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, many historic achievements have been made. In the last four to five years, Dharmendra Pradhan also implemented the Education Policy, and several important initiatives were undertaken. The country has made significant progress in the new education system. The change came amid nationwide protests over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and demands for reforms in the examination system. A senior BJP leader from Karnataka, Joshi will now oversee the Education Ministry in addition to his existing portfolios as Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New and Renewable Energy. The development follows weeks of protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which ended after three rounds of talks with the Centre. The government accepted several demands related to examination reforms, after which the agitation was called off.
