In an exclusive interview, senior Congress leader and eminent jurist Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the NEET paper leaks and student agitations. Credit for the movement's success belongs entirely to youth power, energy, and persistence, rather than any single political party, Singhvi stated, noting: "The credit is to the youth of this country, the youth imagination, the youth energy, the youth persistence." He rejected claims that political parties were piggybacking on youth protests or that the government's decision to negotiate exclusively with the Cockroach Janata Party invalidated opposition support for the cause.
Addressing comparisons to past exam paper leaks under opposition regimes, Singhvi dismissed the defense as "whataboutery of the worst sort," highlighting the unprecedented scale, frequency, and recurrence of leaks under the current administration. Regarding proposed legislative measures, Singhvi emphasized that higher penalties alone will not resolve structural issues, advocating instead for foolproof technological solutions as recommended by the Supreme Court.
