‘Cubbon Park: Citizens Perspectives and Many Visions for the Future’ authored by Suresh Jayaram was launched at Wadiyar Centre for Architecture in Mysuru on Saturday. On the occasion, the author spoke about the making of the book and the significance of Cubbon Park as one of the Bengaluru’s most treasured and contested public spaces, the organisers said.
A press release said the book presents an in-depth exploration of one of Bengaluru’s most iconic public landscapes. “The author examines Cubbon Park as much more than an urban green space. The book portrays it as a living archive of memory, ecology, culture, democracy and civic engagement,” it added.
The release said the book highlights the many ways in which people have shaped and defended this remarkable public landscape. While tracing the park’s evolution,
