Upon completion of 100 days in office, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday (July 25, 2026) inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 2,476 development projects worth ₹11,464 crore. Choudhary took the oath as the head of the government on April 15 and completed 100 days on July 23. He asserted that many historic decisions were taken within 100 days in all sectors, be it education, health, industry, agriculture, infrastructure, and good governance. He added that the Bihar’s overall development has gained new momentum. In the coming years, Bihar will emerge as a leading engine of the nation’s development, investment, employment, innovation, and industrial progress,” Mr. Choudhary said while attending a programme organised at the BIT Mesra campus in Patna to mark the completion of 100 days of his government.
People’s servant In his address, the Chief Minister asserted that the government belongs to the people of Bihar and that he is the people’s servant. He pointed out that every decision taken during the first 100 days has been dedicated to the public interest, good governance, and the all-round development of Bihar. He said that having the opportunity to serve as Chief Minister of Bihar is an emotional moment for him. Mr. Choudhary also said that continuous efforts are being made to ensure self-reliance for the 14 crore people of Bihar and to transform the State into a developed one. The Chief Minister announced that development projects worth ₹11,464 crore were undertaken for the State’s progress. These projects will expand facilities related to roads, bridges, education, health, irrigation, industry, and drinking water, he added.
Listing achievements Choudhary listed the achievements of his government, saying that, from independence until recently, there were only 278-degree colleges in the State and his government recently inaugurated 211 colleges across the State in a single day. Additionally, 551 schools have been developed into model schools. He urged the officials to work 15 to 18 hours a day to transform Bihar into a prosperous State. “We need to work towards establishing at least one industry in every district. Our goal is to attract investments worth ₹5 lakh crore to Bihar by November 20,” Mr. Choudhary added. “The government is working to create extensive employment opportunities for the youth by encouraging major investments in sectors such as textiles, food processing, and electronics. Work is under way to construct the country’s largest airport at Sonepur, and a new airport is also being built at Sultanganj,” Mr. Choudhary said.
