Protesters at Jantar Mantar have called off their 37-day demonstration regarding the NEET exam leak following an agreement with the government. Representatives stated that all primary demands have been accepted, including basic minimum accountability, dignity for families affected by NEET leak suicides, and protection for protesters against government or agency actions. A demand charter was submitted to the government, with a follow-up delegation meeting scheduled within four weeks.
Protesters across Jantar Mantar and other locations were urged to peacefully withdraw. The speakers addressed incidents involving anti-social elements who infiltrated the protest stage over recent days and engaged in violence or targeted the media, explicitly condemning such actions and stating these individuals were not part of the movement. Furthermore, assurance was given regarding the withdrawal of FIRs filed by Delhi Police and authorities across the country against organizers and participants, alongside commitments that no legal proceedings or FIRs will be initiated against protesters in the future.
