Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has tendered his resignation following persistent protests over the NEET examination paper leak controversy, citing moral responsibility for the situation. The announcement triggered celebrations among protesting youth at Jantar Mantar, with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra calling it a major victory for students. In response to the crisis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah convened a high-level meeting, while 47 Testing Agency officials were removed.
Concurrently, Union Ministers JP Nadda and Dr. Jitendra Singh arrived at the Constitution Club for a third round of talks with a four-member CJP delegation led by Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka. CJP leaders stated that their dharna will continue until core demands—including 1 crore rupees compensation for families of NEET aspirants who died by suicide and the full withdrawal of criminal cases against student protesters—are met.
