Dipke has been one of the prominent faces of the CJP-led agitation, which began on June 6 and demanded accountability, examination reforms and Pradhan’s resignation.

Dharmendra Pradhan stepped down as the Union Education Minister on Saturdayy amid growing pressure over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. Announcing his resignation on X, he reflected on his four-decade-long association with the education sector, saying he had devoted his public life to students, teachers and educational reforms. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the education ministry. Addressing the controversy surrounding the May 3 NEET-UG examination, Pradhan acknowledged that irregularities had taken place and said he had always accepted responsibility. “My resolve was that no deserving student should suffer because of examination mafias and no student should face injustice," he wrote. In the same post, Pradhan alleged that “some people holding responsible positions attempted to create obstacles by misleading students." Referring to the recent developments, he added, “The developments of the last 10 days have saddened me.

This is not a matter of personal prestige for me. India’s youth power is the true strength of this country." The resignation came nearly 50 days after the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) launched nationwide protests on June 6, demanding accountability for the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and Pradhan’s removal from the post. The student-led agitation, backed by climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, featured hunger strikes, marches and demonstrations in Delhi. Protesters demanded tougher action against examination mafias, greater judicial oversight and sweeping reforms to the country’s examination system.
