His father, Debendra Pradhan, was a veteran BJP leader and former Minister of State in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.Pradhan’s formal political involvement began in 1983 as an activist with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
