Since 2019, Miami's Consumer Price Index has surged to 36%, making the move far less appealing than before. Miami Is Losing Its Claim to a Cheaper Cost of Living Than NYC Trading cold, expensive New York City for lower taxes and warmer weather in Miami was long a no-brainer.
