What Happened At Friday Talks? After holding the talks on Friday at Constitution Club, the government had agreed in principle to CJP’s two major demands, which were – no legal action against the protesting students and Rs 1 crore compensation. However, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation remained a sticking point. “The meeting went on for almost two hours. They had three main demands and five reform suggestions for exams. We have told them that we will meet them again tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) and tell them about the discussions we had within the government," said Nadda, after Friday’s talks. Addressing reporters after the meeting, CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das, “Our first demand is the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. We also demanded compensation for the families who lost their children after the NEET examination issue and that no FIRs or legal cases be filed against students and youths who participated in the July protests. If any such cases have been registered, they should be withdrawn." Govt Seeks Time Till Today On Pradhan’s Resignation However, Das claimed that the Centre requested additional time to decide on the demand seeking Pradhan’s resignation. “We had a detailed discussion with the government on the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. The government has sought time till tomorrow. If there is no resignation, the movement will become much bigger from here," he said.
