Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Saturday said he has been diagnosed with typhoid but asserted that his illness would not weaken the movement demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. In a video message shared on social media, Dipke said he had been unwell for the past few days and was currently undergoing treatment. "As you know, I have been unwell for the last few days. The reports are out and I have been diagnosed with typhoid," he said, adding that he was receiving intravenous medication but remained committed to the movement.

"Congratulations to all of you for making this movement such a big success.
I am very sure that if we continue protesting like this, we will get Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation," he said. The CJP launched its agitation over irregularities in competitive examinations, seeking reforms in the examination and recruitment system, greater accountability and the resignation of Pradhan. The protest gained momentum after activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the agitation on June 28 and undertook a 26-day hunger strike. Wangchuk ended his fast earlier this week after the Centre gave written assurances that no action would be taken against peaceful protesters, Parliament would take up issues related to examination reforms and accountability, and the demand for compensation to the families of students who died by suicide following the NEET paper leak would be considered.
Despite Wangchuk calling off his hunger strike, the CJP has said its protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar will continue until Pradhan resigns. Ends
