NTA To Recruit 4 General Managers, 16 Young Professionals Amid NEET Reform Push Published By, Last Updated: July 24, 2026, 21:52 IST NTA has begun its institutional overhaul by recruiting four General Managers and 16 Young Professionals, in line with the K Radhakrishnan Committee's recommendations. The government is preparing to introduce major reforms within the NTA. The Testing Agency (NTA) has launched the first phase of its institutional overhaul by announcing recruitment for four General Manager (GM) positions and 16 young professionals. The exercise marks the beginning of reforms recommended by the High-Level Committee of Experts chaired by Professor K Radhakrishnan. The agency will appoint separate General Managers for Assessment Research and Psychometrics, Test Centre Network and Operations, Information Security, and Vigilance, Investigation and Forensics.

These appointments are aimed at strengthening examination systems, cyber security, test centre management and internal investigations. 16 Young Professionals To Join Through UPSC’s Pratibha Setu For the first time, NTA will recruit 16 young professionals through the UPSC’s Pratibha Setu portal. Twelve will be deployed in academic research, while two each will work in the legal and finance divisions to support the agency’s institutional functions. Part Of Wider Institutional Reforms The Ministry of Education said the recruitment drive is the first step towards implementing the K. Radhakrishnan committee’s recommendations. More recruitment and empanelment across the committee’s recommended functional verticals are expected in the coming weeks, alongside the induction of subject matter experts and translators.

The government has also removed 47 NTA officials as part of its push to strengthen accountability within the examination agency. The recruitment drive comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a late-night video message, said his government remained committed to protecting students’ interests and ensuring a fair and transparent examination system. He also announced fast-track courts for cases involving examination malpractices and stressed that those responsible would face swift and stringent punishment.
