According to reports, work was going on as usual inside the factory when gas allegedly began leaking from a pipeline or cylinder. The gas reportedly spread rapidly through the premises within minutes, creating chaos inside the manufacturing unit. Workers allegedly started experiencing breathing difficulties, severe eye irritation, and suffocation soon after the leak. Several workers reportedly collapsed unconscious on the spot as panic spread across the factory premises. Following information about the incident, police personnel, fire brigade teams, and officials from the health department rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations.
Emergency teams evacuated workers from the factory and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. Reports said some of the injured workers were in critical condition. Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the suspected gas leak. Officials said it would be possible to determine the real cause of the incident only after the inquiry report is submitted. As a precautionary measure, the factory premises have been evacuated while officials continue their investigation into the incident.
