Jana Sena Party (JSP) Political Affairs Committee (PAC) chairman and Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar on Friday said the party had played a key role in protecting democracy in Andhra Pradesh by resisting alleged undemocratic practices during the 2021 local body elections. Addressing a party review meeting chaired by Samineni Uday Bhanu, NTR district JSP president, Mr. Manohar said meetings were being held on the directions of party president and Deputy Chief Minister K.
Pawan Kalyan to strengthen the organisation and ensure every party worker received due recognition. He said Mr. Pawan Kalyan had instructed leaders to treat cadre with respect, patiently listen to their concerns and strive to resolve their issues. The review meetings, he added, would focus on organisational matters, political strategies and public issues. Mr. Manohar also interacted with party workers, received their suggestions and distributed application forms to grassroots leaders.
Recalling the 2021 local body elections, he alleged that the then government had attempted to secure unanimous victories through undemocratic means, but JSP workers resisted such efforts despite political pressure. He praised the courage of Jana Sainiks and women activists, and urged them to display the same commitment in the forthcoming local body elections. Calling for unity, Mr. Manohar said there should be no factionalism within the party.
“There is only one group in Jana Sena — the Pawan Kalyan group,” he said, assuring workers that dedicated cadre would receive opportunities at the appropriate time. He announced that the party would soon complete its organisational restructuring by appointing committees at various levels before strengthening its booth-level network across the State.
