A demonstrator treated at the hospital suffered wounds to his back and elbow after security personnel fired tear gas and opened fire on the crowd.
Another protester sustained eye injuries putting vision at risk. Delhi Police denied using pellet guns, stating the force does not possess them. However, the Central Reserve Police Force's Rapid Action Force, which carries pellet guns in its anti-riot arsenal, was deployed alongside Delhi Police during the incident.
