The Mega Parent-Teacher meetings held across the Annamayya and Anantapur districts on Friday (July 24, 2026,) stressed the crucial role of parents and teachers in shaping the careers and futures of students studying in government schools and colleges. Annamayya District Collector Nishant Kumar, who inaugurated the Mega PTM 4.0 programme at the Zilla Parishad Telugu High School in Kalicherla village of Peddamandyam mandal, stated that parents and teachers must coordinate and work together for the holistic development of every child.
He noted that the eight years leading up to a high school student’s future studies are critical and urged them to stay focused on their goals while shunning all negative influences. The Collector said the LEAP application would enable parents to monitor attendance, homework, and academic progress. “My School-My Pride initiative would strengthen career guidance through mentoring by government officials,” Nishant Kumar said, adding that the government would work towards improving school infrastructure.
In Anantapur district, Collector O. Anand appealed to the students to pursue clear goals and strive for academic excellence. “The infrastructure of the government schools is on a par with private institutions. Nearly 4,000 students had shifted from private to government schools in Anantapur district this academic year. Across Andhra Pradesh, more than one lakh students enrolled in government schools this year,” the Collector said.
Later, the Collector honoured a differently-abled student who won gold and silver medals at the State Olympics.
