Consulting Editor Rajdeep Sardesai joined a Gen Z round table broadcast to share his analysis of the ongoing youth-led protests across India. Sardesai congratulated reporter Anand for his investigative story on the Delhi Police and pellet gun use, praising the initiative of young journalists. Categorizing Indian society into four distinct economic tiers from India A to D, Sardesai argued that the current movement is primarily driven by aspirational middle-class youth from India B and C whose parents struggle to provide quality education.
He described the agitation as a transnational 'Insta revolution' driven by creative, short-form content, impatience, and anguish over police lathi charges. Highlighting the broader grievances of the young generation, Sardesai noted, 'our education system, again, to use a word of your generation, simply sucks.' Other participants on the panel discussed how young individuals, corporate workers, and overseas students are joining in solidarity, fueled by empathy and shared frustration over system failures.
