Instead, they should use Instagram to interact directly with young people and communicate in a more engaging and accessible manner. PM Modi also encouraged ministers to post reels and create interactive content that resonates with younger audiences, the sources said.
"Young audiences are on Instagram. This is a large section of citizens that all of us need to stay connected with," the Prime Minister told ministers, according to sources. CABINET APPROVED SERIES OF DECISIONS The advice came during a Cabinet meeting that approved a series of key decisions, including a draft Bill proposing tougher punishments for examination paper leaks. According to official sources, the Union Cabinet cleared amendments to The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, proposing significantly stricter penalties for those involved in paper leaks. The proposed amendments prescribe a minimum prison term of five years for individuals involved in paper leaks, while organised paper leak rackets could face up to 10 years in jail and a maximum fine of Rs 1 crore, reports news agency PTI. The legislation, likely to be introduced in Parliament on Monday, seeks to strengthen the existing law by targeting organised gangs and institutions involved in examination fraud while protecting genuine candidates.
It covers recruitment examinations such as UPSC and SSC, as well as entrance tests including NEET, JEE and CUET. Calling the leak "not a trivial issue", he said it had caused immense distress to lakhs of students and their parents.
