The Sathya Sai district police on Friday (July 24, 2026) detained six youths on charges of ‘si up riding’ a two-wheeler under the Hindupur Rural police station limits. According to the police, the local youths, all in their 20s, attempted to flee after noticing a checkpoint.
Hindupur Rural Circle Inspector Janardhan and Chilamathur Sub-Inspector Sridhar pursued and detained them. Instead of initiating legal action, the police counselled the youngsters on the risks of reckless riding and the importance of following traffic rules.
The officers asked them to think of their families before risking their lives on the road. “Travelling with six persons on a two-wheeler is both unlawful and
potentially fatal. Strict legal action would be taken under the Motor Vehicles Act against traffic violators, and their vehicles could be seized as per law,” the Circle-Inspector said.
