Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Friday said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation was in the government's own best interest, warning that the protests would intensify nationwide if the minister remained in office. In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Dipke said Pradhan's resignation was in the government's own interest and cautioned that the protest could escalate further if the demand was ignored. He reiterated the movement's two key demands were Pradhan's resignation and Rs 1 crore compensation for the families of students who died by suicide following the NEET paper leak.

Responding to a question about support from Opposition parties, Dipke said the movement had received backing from people across political lines. "I thank everyone who set aside political differences and stood with the students on this issue," he said. Dipke also welcomed activist Sonam Wangchuk's decision to end his 26-day hunger strike, saying the CJP itself had urged him to do so. "Sonam Wangchuk's sacrifice for this movement has been immense. We are happy that he has ended his fast, but our agitation will continue," he said. On the ongoing dialogue with the government, Dipke said the protesters had not yet received any formal assurance on their key demands.

"We are not satisfied yet. There has been no official confirmation from the government on our demands. However, we have been invited for another round of talks tomorrow," he said. So far, three rounds of talks have taken place between the government and CJP representatives so far, but no breakthrough has been announced. Ends
