The Enforcement Directorate said it has attached assets worth Rs 1,906 crore linked to online gaming company Gameskraft, alleging that its platforms created an “addictive” gaming environment that encouraged “repeated wagering” by players. In a statement, the agency said the action was taken under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act on July 22 in a case related to the RummyCulture, RummyPrime, Playship and RummyTime apps. With this latest action, the total attachment, seizure and freezing of assets in the case has reached Rs 2,401 crore. Read Full Story According to the ED, the provisionally attached assets include bank and fixed deposits, mutual funds, convertible notes, equity shares, a farmhouse, and several residential and commercial properties.
These are held in the names of the shareholders of Gameskraft Technologies Pvt. Ltd., their family members, private family trusts and associated entities. The agency said Gameskraft and RummyTime Technologies were operating online real money games through these apps and had a user base of around 3 crore players, mainly in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. It also said online money gaming was banned in India by the government in August 2025. The ED alleged that the companies earned revenue by charging a platform commission of 10-15 per cent on the staking or wagering amounts deposited by users.
It further claimed that the firms used BOTs, or automated programmes and algorithms, to play against users who were unaware of it. The agency said players were “lured” through bonuses, referral incentives, free tournament entries and promotional rewards to encourage continuous gameplay and higher deposits. “These unscrupulous practices of the companies have created an addictive gaming environment that encouraged repeated wagering, thereby enabling the companies to generate huge proceeds of crime in the form of platform commission,” the ED said. It added that the proceeds of crime generated through these activities were later layered and integrated through the payment of dividends and buy-back of shares to shareholders.
The ED said its latest action covers a wide range of financial and immovable assets linked to Gameskraft and associated persons and entities, as it pursues a money laundering case over the operation of the gaming apps and the alleged generation of proceeds of crime. Ends
