Talks were held between Union ministers and a delegation representing student protesters at the Constitution Club to address key demands following nearly a month of demonstrations. Discussions showed positive movement on demands regarding compensation for families of students who died by suicide and the withdrawal of cases against peaceful protesters. However, a major sticking point remains unresolved regarding the demand for the removal of the Union Education Minister from the cabinet.
The government sought time to respond to this requirement, while protesters maintained that the resignation is non-negotiable. Meanwhile, demonstrations continue at Jantar Mantar despite the fast being broken and administrative actions taken. Protesters reported police detention of youth, while government representatives assured that such actions would be looked into. Area connectivity and metro services around central Delhi remain affected due to the ongoing movement.
