Klopp also insisted he would not seek compensation if things did not work out and made a personal appeal for privacy. “I will leave without any severance pay if it doesn’t work out," he said, before adding that he expects the media to “leave my family in peace." DFB Got Its First Choice German Football Association (DFB) president Bernd Neuendorf revealed Klopp had been the federation’s preferred candidate from the outset.

“We were unanimous in saying he was the candidate we had to speak to. Our discussions only strengthened our belief that he’s the right man at the right time." To secure Klopp’s early release from Red Bull, the DFB agreed to donate €1 million to the company’s Wings for Life foundation and stage three Germany internationals in Leipzig before 2030. A Huge Rebuilding Job Awaits Klopp’s first match in charge will come against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League on September 24, with Greece and Serbia also awaiting Germany in Group A2.
